.A technical delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Port Sudan to discuss the situation of Syrians affected by violations by joint forces in El Fasher.
According to the Ministry’s official Telegram channel, the delegation began its mission with a productive session alongside Major General Osman Mohamed al-Hassan Dinkawi, Director General of Passports and Immigration at the Sudanese Ministry of Interior, in the presence of several senior officials.
The two sides discussed challenges faced by Syrians in Sudan and the regularization of their legal status. The Sudanese side expressed full cooperation, and both parties affirmed the depth of relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, agreeing to work jointly to enhance these ties.
The Syrian delegation was received by officials from the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A source revealed to “AlsudaniaNews” that the delegation came after calls on social media threatening a Syrian citizen, his detention in El Fasher by joint forces, and preventing him from leaving.
Appeals were made to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Transitional Government to urgently assist them in addressing pending issues that prevent them from leaving Sudan for Syria. The main issue is the imposition of exorbitant financial fines for residency violations that they cannot afford due to the ongoing war.
