RSF Affirms Commitment to Protect Civilians and Restore Stability in Al-Fashir Following City’s Liberation

Nyala: Sudanese News

In adherence to international laws and humanitarian principles, and in line with the directives of its leadership, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has reaffirmed its full commitment to protecting civilians in Al-Fashir following the city’s liberation from the control of the terrorist Islamic Movement army and its allied militias.

The RSF announced the establishment of safe corridors for civilians wishing to relocate to other areas, as well as comprehensive protection for all residents within the city. The force pledged to take all necessary measures to restore normal life and stability, including:

Facilitating humanitarian access, ensuring the secure delivery of aid and protection of relief workers.

Assigning the Federal Police to maintain security and public order after the city’s full stabilization.

Reopening essential services, including markets, hospitals, and water facilities.

Clearing landmines and handling the deceased with dignity to enable the safe return of citizens to their homes.

Ensuring humane treatment of prisoners, in full compliance with international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

The RSF emphasized that the primary goal of liberating Al-Fashir is to eliminate the threats that endangered civilians and to lay the foundation for a new era of peace and justice.

“Our efforts will continue to consolidate security and stability, and to build a Sudan grounded in peace, justice, and equality for all,” the statement concluded.
