The Darfur Victims Support Organization strongly condemns the drone attack that targeted a World Food Programme (WFP) convoy

Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVSO) strongly condemns the recent drone attack that targeted a convoy belonging to the World Food Programme (WFP) in the city of Umm Ruwaba, North Kordofan State, on February 7, 2026.

According to an eyewitness provided to the organization, the bombardment resulted in the death of four civilians, including women and children, and left 20 others injured with varying degrees of severity. The witness reported that the victims were internally displaced persons (IDPs) who had recently arrived from the areas of Al-Zureiqa and Al-Nour in the Umm Dam Haj Ahmed locality.

The deceased have been identified as:
1. Farha Salih Mohamed Salih (30 years old)
2. Zain Yassin Al-Nour (27 years old)
3. Salma Al-Nour Yassin (19 years old)
4. Nuha Abdullah (12 years old – Child)

The DVSO emphasizes that the targeted convoy was transporting essential food supplies destined for civilians suffering from severe hunger in the Kordofan region. Targeting humanitarian aid and those delivering it is a flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law.
• We demand an immediate and independent investigation into this crime and that the perpetrators be held strictly accountable.
• We extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims.
• We call upon the warring parties to cease the war immediately, respect International Humanitarian Law, and ensure the absolute protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.
