Drone Strike Targets Adé Kong Crossing in Darfur, Raising Fears Over Humanitarian Lifeline

The Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVSO) reported that an army drone strike targeted the Adé Kong border crossing in West Darfur on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, sparking serious concerns over the safety of critical humanitarian routes in the region.

According to eyewitness accounts cited by the organization, the attack occurred around 5:00 PM local time and struck a fuel market within the crossing area. The incident left six people injured, who were subsequently transported to Adé Hospital for medical treatment.

The Adé Kong crossing, which connects Sudan and Chad, is considered one of the most vital land corridors for delivering humanitarian aid into Darfur. More than six million people in the region depend on this route for essential supplies and relief assistance.

DVSO stated that the strike caused widespread panic among civilians and warned of the dangerous implications of targeting infrastructure essential for humanitarian operations, especially amid the worsening crisis in Darfur.

The organization called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent action and pressure the warring parties to cease attacks on the crossing, emphasizing the need to ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to millions in need.
