The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has strongly condemned what it described as drone attacks targeting civilians in Al-Daein, East Darfur State, and a humanitarian organization’s headquarters in Kauda, South Kordofan, accusing forces affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood authority in Port Sudan of carrying out the strikes.
In a statement issued by Ahmed Tugod Lissan, the official spokesperson for the Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS), the alliance said a drone strike carried out on Tuesday evening targeted a residential building located on a main road in one of Al-Daein’s neighborhoods. According to the statement, the building housed a public viewing club and a grocery store and was reportedly occupied by civilians at the time of the attack.
The statement said the strike resulted in the deaths of 15 civilians and left dozens of others injured, with casualties including people who suffered varying degrees of wounds.
According to the alliance, the city of Kauda in the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan was also subjected to an aerial attack on the same day. The reported strike targeted the headquarters of a humanitarian organization operating in the city and allegedly led to the destruction of a vehicle belonging to Internal Security Forces as well as another civilian vehicle.
The Sudan Founding Alliance described the incidents as violations of international humanitarian law, stating that the attacks reflected a continued pattern of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The alliance further stated that such actions aimed at spreading fear, disrupting humanitarian operations, and deepening instability would not undermine the determination of Sudanese citizens seeking to establish what it described as a new Sudan founded on the principles of freedom, peace, and justice.
The statement also called on the international community and human rights organizations to condemn the reported attacks, document alleged violations, and support efforts aimed at ensuring accountability and preventing impunity.
The claims in the statement reflect the position of the Sudan Founding Alliance and have not been independently verified.
