The organization condemns the arrest by the de facto authorities in Port Sudan, Red Sea State, of approximately 170 people from western Sudan during the period 2024, 2025, and 2026 on charges of collaborating with the Rapid Support Forces, in a selective and regionally discriminatory manner. And I believe that this endangers the unity of the country and the disintegration of the social fabric of Sudan. They were brought to trial under torture and without legal representation. These trials lacked fair trial standards. Articles 50, 51, and 26 of the 1991 Penal Code were invoked, The organization conducted interviews with them and their families, who reported that they had been tortured by military intelligence, the security cell, and the intelligence service to register confessions that they have ties to the Rapid Support Forces
The organization demands that the authorities immediately halt these unfair trials and release them, and appeals to civil society organizations to stand in solidarity with them.
