Most outbreak areas are suffering from shortages of medical supplies, intravenous fluids, and chlorine. Humanitarian organizations, local volunteers, emergency rooms, and local authorities are making tremendous efforts to combat the disease. However, significant difficulties and challenges remain due to high infection rates, in addition to the spread of malaria and child malnutrition. These challenges threaten people’s lives and represent a forgotten humanitarian nightmare, ignored by regional and international communities in a country torn apart by war, famine, disease, epidemics, and food shortages. We call on humanitarian organizations, especially the World Health Organization, relevant institutions, and the global humanitarian community, to make greater efforts to alleviate the critical health and humanitarian situation facing Sudanese communities in displacement areas. These areas are plagued by epidemics, disease, and famine, with the complete collapse of service and health institutions, a shortage of potable water sources, and some areas relying on unprotected valleys and ponds.
