COHR-Sudan: Widespread campaigns of Extrajudicial killings carried by (SAF).
KHartoum Asudanianews
The Central Observatory for Human Rights-Sudan (COHR-Sudan) expresses deep concern over the ongoing reports of the deteriorating human rights situation in Sennar State, recently recaptured by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
There are serious allegations of grave violations against civilians, including widespread campaigns of extrajudicial killings and targeted assassinations carried out by armed groups of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). Many civilians are being targeted on suspicion of collaborating with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). There are also reports of numerous cases of torture and arbitrary arrests.
The Observatory emphasizes that the continuation of these violations poses a grave threat to human rights and fundamental freedoms, and a direct threat to the security of civilians.
We call on the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) to restrain its members from committing these violations and to respect the dignity of civilians. We also call on the international and regional community to protect civilians and take measures to prevent the recurrence of such violations.
