In Sudan, health care systems have been damaged or destroyed by the ongoing conflict, making access to safe health care a daily struggle. When Huda*, a 28-year-old mother from Omdurman, learned she was expecting twins, her joy quickly turned to fear when she discovered she was carrying triplets, as medical risks and financial pressures increased.
At Mabruka Medical Centre, Huda received lifesaving prenatal and postnatal care, including regular check-ups, nutrition support, and mental health services, and safely welcomed Mazin*, Marwan, and Malik into the world.
This impact was made possible through ECHO’s timely and generous funding, which enabled Save the Children to rapidly restore and scale up critical health services in Omdurman, while continuing preventive efforts through clean water, hygiene supplies, and community awareness
