And This incident represents a heinous crime added to the series of violations suffered by citizens in Kassala State and other regions of Sudan. The use of torture and extrajudicial killing by the National Security and Intelligence Service poses a serious threat to human rights and requires immediate intervention by the judicial authorities and the international community.

On this date, a tragic incident occurred in Kassala State resulting in the death of young Amin Mohamed Noor after he was subjected to torture by members of the National Security and Intelligence Service. According to the details of the incident, Amin Mohamed Noor was arrested in the city of Wad Sharif in Kassala State by a group affiliated with the National Security and Intelligence Service and was subsequently transferred to Kassala. There, he was tortured, which led to his death. The autopsy report issued by Kassala Hospital confirmed that his body was covered in bruises, clearly indicating torture.

The Youth Gathering of the Beni Amer and Habab in Kassala State expressed their profound outrage at the incident in Statement No. (1), which read: “With deep sorrow and grief, we received this morning, Saturday, the news of the death of our brother, young Amin Mohamed Noor, who died following his arrest by a group affiliated with the National Security and Intelligence Service in Kassala State in the city of Wad Sharif. He was transferred to Kassala, where he died as a result of the torture he endured, as confirmed by the autopsy report from Kassala Hospital, which revealed extensive bruising on his body.”

The statement also noted an attempt by the Director of the National Security and Intelligence Service in Kassala, Brigadier General Radwan, to mislead by providing a false account, claiming that the deceased suffered from respiratory distress and was linked to the Rapid Support Forces. However, the forensic report disproved these claims, revealing the truth of the torture.

In response to this situation, the Youth Gathering of the Beni Amer and Habab announced a “general closure of the Kassala city market for tomorrow, Sunday” as a protest measure and refused to receive the body until the perpetrators are arrested and brought before the public prosecution. They also demanded the dismissal of the Director of the National Security and Intelligence Service in Kassala State and Locality.

In the same context, Dr. Mubarak Mubarak Salim, President of the Free Will Party, strongly condemned this brutal act and called for the immediate arrest of the National Security and Intelligence Service members involved in the torture and killing of young Amin Mohamed Noor and their prompt prosecution. Mubarak warned against the repetition of such repressive acts, stating: “These actions reflect the behavior of a state that does not respect the law. The duty of the security apparatus should have been to maintain public safety and protection, not to oppress and kill its citizens.”

Furthermore, protests erupted today, Sunday, in the streets of Kassala city demanding justice for Amin Mohamed Noor. Security forces responded to these protests with live ammunition to disperse the demonstrators, resulting in injuries to several individuals and escalating tensions in the region.
