The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) has expressed deep concern over documented reports of human rights violations committed against civilians in the city of El-Fasher, stressing its categorical rejection of such acts, which it described as grave breaches of international humanitarian law and human rights principles.
The Alliance clarified that the reported violations represent isolated incidents committed by undisciplined individuals, and do not reflect the general discipline, values, or commitments of the Alliance’s forces toward the Sudanese people. Immediate measures have been taken to halt these violations and hold those responsible fully accountable.
Reaffirming its absolute commitment to the protection and safety of civilians, the Alliance stated that it is guided by the Geneva Conventions, their Additional Protocols, and the fundamental principles of international human rights law. It further pledged to apply the highest standards of legal accountability against anyone proven to be involved in such violations, regardless of their rank or position.
In light of its moral and legal responsibilities following the control of El-Fasher, the Sudan Founding Alliance called on the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to intensify relief efforts and ensure the safe and continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to affected populations without obstruction.
The statement concluded by reaffirming that the protection of Sudanese citizens and the preservation of their fundamental rights remain the Alliance’s top priority. The Alliance also pledged to keep the public and international bodies informed of the results of investigations and corrective measures in full transparency and seriousness.
