The United States has called on all parties to the conflict in Sudan to ensure humanitarian access to affected areas, noting that the conflict in Sudan is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, and it is a man-made crisis. The US stated that the warring parties, including the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), are using the denial of humanitarian assistance as a tactic of war.
Remove bureaucratic impediments: All parties should remove impediments that delay the dispatch of supplies and personnel and respond within 72 hours of notification of humanitarian assistance.
Open all border crossings: Parties should open all border crossings into Sudan for humanitarian purposes, including those from South Sudan into Darfur.
Issue visas for humanitarian workers: Visas and presence permits should be issued for humanitarian workers throughout Sudan within one week of application.
