An army drone bombed a local market in Ghabish locality, West Kordofan state, Eyewitnesses told the organizations that an army drone targeted the city’s central market, specifically the Wad al-Faki restaurant, at approximately 11:00 AM Sudan time. 19 May 2026. While the restaurant was packed with citizens having breakfast, the drone targeted civilians. The killing of 20 civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and the wounding of approximately 25 others who were transferred to Ghabish Hospital for treatment. The organization holds the army fully responsible for targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure and calls on the UN Security Council to take immediate action to protect civilians in Sudan. DVS will conduct an investigation and issue a detailed report on the incident.
