Civilians Killed and Injured, Including Children, in Attacks in Blue Nile State

Al-Damazin – Blue Nile | Special ReportFive civilians were killed and another critically injured in two separate incidents in Blue Nile State last week. In a statement obtained by this newspaper, members of the Rifa’a Al-Hawa tribe accused the Sudanese Armed Forces of being behind both attacks.

According to the tribe’s statement, two members of the community were shot at by armed individuals in military uniforms between the towns of Ashra and Bakori.

The attack resulted in the death of Al-Mardi Mohamed Ali Okra, who was killed instantly. Abu Obaida Yasser Mohamed Khalifa Al-Mahdi was also severely injured. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Al-Damazin Hospital as of the time of this report.

Drone Strike in “Goz Al-Dahesh

In a second incident, the area of Goz Al-Dahesh, west of Bout town, was hit by a drone strike. Eyewitnesses from the area stated that the drone belonged to the Armed Forces.The strike killed four civilians, including: Al-Taj Al-Mughira Mohamed Khalifa Al-Mahdi, a 7-year-old girl, a 4-year-old boy, and a fourth civilian whose name is yet to be confirmed.

“Civilians Are Paying the Price”

The statement said that “the killing of children and civilians in these incidents represents a painful humanitarian tragedy. It confirms the scale of suffering endured by citizens in conflict zones, where civilians, including women and children, are paying a heavy price as a result of the ongoing war.”

The statement put forward six key demands:Launch an urgent and transparent investigation and hold those responsible accountable.Provide full protection for civilians in conflict areas.Ensure full medical care for the injured, especially Abu Obaida Yasser Mohamed Al-Khalifa.Document the names of victims and guarantee the rights of their families with compensation.Allow humanitarian and human rights organizations immediate access to affected areas.Halt the targeting of civilians in all its forms, including airstrikes and ground attacks.The statement concluded by affirming that “the people of Rifa’a Al-Hawa in Blue Nile are an integral part of the Sudanese people. Our people in these areas deserve security, peace, and a dignified life, far from killing, bombing, and violence.”May God have mercy on the martyrs and grant a speedy recovery to the injured.
