On the occasion of Swiss National Day, UNHCR Sudan extended its sincere gratitude to the people and Government of Switzerland for their generous and flexible funding, which has enabled the agency to respond swiftly to growing humanitarian needs across the country.In a post on X, UNHCR said Swiss support plays a vital role in assisting conflict-affected communities throughout #Sudan, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and returnees facing dire living conditions.The appreciation comes as regions like Darfur and Kordofan witness a severe humanitarian deterioration due to drought and soaring food prices, further deepening the suffering of vulnerable families.UNHCR emphasized that the flexibility of Swiss funding has allowed it to scale up assistance in shelter, water, health, and protection, while also enabling rapid emergency response when new needs emerge.The agency concluded its message by congratulating Switzerland on its National Day, highlighting that the partnership with the Swiss Government represents a strong model of international solidarity in support of the most vulnerable people in Sudan.
