Geneva talks are an opportunity to save hundreds of thousands from starvation and to stop the suffering of millions of Sudanese.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy commends the United States of America, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Nations, the African Union, IGAD, Sudan’s neighboring countries, Arab countries, and the European Union countries for their broad and growing interest in the issue of war in Sudan.
The Nubian Center commends their appreciated efforts to support the Sudanese people, despite the obstacles, in providing aid and humanitarian and relief assistance to those affected in war zones, especially their ongoing role in searching for solutions to the process of stopping the destructive war in Sudan, bringing in humanitarian aid, achieving peace and restoring security and stability in Sudan, and completing the political process that leads to comprehensive change and a real democratic transformation in the country.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy expresses its unlimited support for the American initiative and the invitation of its Secretary of State, Mr. Anthony Blinken, to the two parties to the conflict in Sudan to hold talks on August 14, with the presence and participation of international parties, to discuss the process of stopping the war, and the entry of humanitarian aid and relief materials for the displaced and affected in the war zones in Sudan, especially in the Darfur region.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy expresses its hope that the American initiative and the upcoming Geneva talks will result in stopping the war and the entry of humanitarian and relief aid.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy confirms that the talks on August 14 in Geneva, sponsored by the United States of America, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Nations, the African Union, and the participation of other international parties, are an opportunity to save hundreds of thousands of citizens from starvation and to end the suffering of millions of Sudanese, displaced and refugees inside and outside Sudan.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy calls on both parties to the war in Sudan to put the interests of the people and the country as a top priority, and to respond immediately and without conditions to the people’s desire to stop the war and allow humanitarian aid in.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy urges all components of the Sudanese people supporting the cessation of the war, the regional and international community, and all organizations, institutions, bodies, and regional and international bodies to pressure both parties to the conflict in Sudan to stop the war and allow humanitarian aid in.
For decades, the Sudanese have been suffering from wars, state violence, and have been subjected to killing, targeting, displacement, and the most heinous forms of torture and violations, especially in this catastrophic war currently underway. Despite the great sympathy from the regional and international community, the extent of the pain, despair, misery, bitterness, and suffering that millions of Sudanese, especially the displaced and refugees, have been subjected to as a result of these wars, is only understood by the displaced, refugees, and those affected, and the victims of these wars. Accordingly, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy appeals to those active and interested in Sudanese affairs, and appeals in particular to the United States of America, the United Nations, and the UN Security Council, to exert maximum pressure on both parties to the conflict, and to use all possible and impossible means and methods to bring in humanitarian aid, protect civilians, and not to allow or tolerate any party to the war that commits violations against the rights of citizens, and places obstacles and barricades to stop the war.
The Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy calls on the United States of America, the United Nations, and the Security Council not to listen to or comply with the opinion or desire of any of the parties to the conflict, which would undermine the process of stopping the absurd and destructive war, achieving peace, and restoring security and stability in Sudan.
